3 Reasons You May Not Be Effectively Burning Fat

So many of us don’t realize the simple mistakes we are making that make it difficult to burn fat. By ensuring you are doing these 3 simple things, you can avoid the common mistakes that prevent you from effectively burning fat.

Not Enough Sleep

One of the mistakes we can make is not getting enough sleep. We need 6-7 hours of good sleep. Unrestful sleep leads to blood sugar is elevated. The higher levels of insulin make it hard for our bodies to burn fat. Lack of sleep leaves the body in survival mode. The body then shifts its focus from effective fat burning to only vital functions. Sleep is an integral part of the process to shift our bodies from sugar burners to fat burners.

Not Eating Enough

We need to focus on the right macronutrients from whole foods to keep our bodies fueled from the day. There are a lot of foods we can eat to fit our macronutrients, but not all of those foods are beneficial to our bodies. If you are someone who has been practicing a low carb lifestyle, you should consider cycling your carbs as opposed to cutting them out or drastically restricting them on a daily basis. Carbohydrates help to increase our overall metabolism. If you have been engaging in a low carb lifestyle, I would love to share with you the benefits of carb cycling. It is important to choose foods rich in macronutrients and micronutrients. Restriction of calories over a long period of time can damage our bodies. Restriction of calories always leads to weight loss, putting yourself into starvation mode will, but this is not an effective long-term strategy. This is not sustainable.

Exercising Too Much

Often times when we are trying to lose weight, get fit, or become healthy we integrate workouts into our overall strategy. Working out is a very effective way, paired with nutrition, to lose fat, but it can certainly be taken too far. We need to listen to our bodies and take the time to rest when needed. Over exercising can lead to symptoms of hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, and burn out. The FASTer Way To Fat Loss focuses on working out smarter and ensuring we eat enough to fuel our workouts. During the FASTer Way To Fat Loss, we ask that you work hard 2 days a week.

The FASTer Way To Fat Loss gives you the freedom to listen to our bodies. If you have not had enough sleep, are feeling stressed, or under the weather, take a break from working out and get some rest. Focus on your nutrition. Because of the emphasis on nutrition, those strategies will carry you through periods where working out may not be feasible.

By focusing on better sleep, better nutrition (including more whole foods and ensuring you are eating enough), and more effective exercise with rest when needed, you can reach those goals of becoming lean, fit, and strong. Focusing on these 3 things will help you burn fat more effectively.

I would love to have you join me in my next round of the FASTer Way. We will learn how to pair our nutrition with our workouts, work out smarter, not longer and balance rest to start looking and feeling your very best.
